LGBTQIA+ are the letters used to identify lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual people.
Whilst sexual orientation refers to the gender to which a person is attracted, gender identity is the personal – and therefore internal – perception of one’s own gender.
From a legal perspective, these issues are new and, unfortunately, very often arise in a context of discrimination: discrimination in recruitment or promotion, in access to housing, in participation in sporting or cultural activities, and harassment at school or in the workplace…
LGBTQIA people are also sometimes victims of hateful or violent remarks, whether on social media or in public spaces. Combating this phenomenon involves legal proceedings that can be difficult and lengthy, often characterised by problems with evidence.
For over 15 years, S-Law has developed expertise in supporting LGBTQIA+ people and assists:
