When grandparents or other close relatives who have an emotional bond with the child are no longer allowed to see them, what recourse do they have?
Section 375 bis of the Civil Code establishes a right to personal contact.
But what a gulf there is between the text, which grants rights subject to certain conditions, and case law – or indeed simply what happens in reality…
If there are any cases where mediation and family therapy have a role to play that goes beyond the law itself, it is certainly those relating to personal contact.
