For over 25 years, Mr Jacques has built up expertise in representing victims of human trafficking and smuggling.
The firm represents only victims in their cases against traffickers and also acts as legal counsel for Myria, the Federal Migration Centre, the non-profit organisation Surya, the non-profit organisation Payoke and the non-profit organisation Pag-Asa.
Mr Jacques has also been a member of the Council of Europe’s Network of Specialised Lawyers and NGOs providing legal assistance to victims of trafficking in Strasbourg since 2016.
He teaches this specialist subject at the University of Mons as part of the University Certificate in Interpreting in a Legal Context: the judicial system and the asylum sector.
S-Law is representing two defendants charged with the crime of genocide in two trials before the Brussels-Capital Assize Court (2019 and 2027).
Ms Wilmotte, for her part, has been handling all criminal matters relating to the family for nearly 30 years, from the very first police interview:
- assaults between family members of any kind (parents, children, former partners);
- intra-family sexual assault and rape;
- the distribution of intimate images (revenge porn);
- failure to pay maintenance (abandonment of the family);
- abduction and failure to comply with access rights (failure to hand over a child);
- harassment (including online harassment);
- slander and defamation;
- misappropriation of assets in the context of the liquidation of matrimonial property and inheritance;
- abuse of vulnerability and fraud against relatives;
- forgery in matters relating to inheritance, cohabitation and marriage;
- destruction of property belonging to relatives;
- fraudulent insolvency.
