During a debate on the death penalty imposed on European nationals abroad, Mr Jean-Pierre Jacques took part in the discussion, which took place on the set of the RTBF programme “Regard sur”, presented by Hadja Lahbib.
He was able to explain the difficulties faced by families with a member detained abroad and the potential solutions that his expertise at the law firm S-Law has enabled him to develop over the last 20 years.
The debate was followed by a second discussion on the legal fate of FTFs (Foreign Terrorist Fighters) currently in Syria and Iraq. Jean-Pierre Jacques called for the establishment of a European criminal court within the European Union to try acts of terrorism committed by these European nationals abroad.
